4-Week Pottery Wheel | October 2025

Class Description

This 4 week class is designed to give students aged 12-adult comprehensive instruction on how to make an optional themed project on the pottery wheel. Throwing on the pottery wheel is a skill that takes lots of practice to develop! We have designed the 4-week class to be repeated, allowing students to grow their throwing, trimming, and glazing skills at their own pace. We will modify the project based on each student's ability level.

September Projects

• Beginner Level: Small serving bowl
• Intermediate & Advanced Level: Gravy boat

Class Options

• Tuesdays 10am-12pm (meets on 10/7, 10/14, 10/21, 10/28)
• Wednesdays 6pm-8pm (meets on 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 10/29) 
• Thursdays 6pm-8pm (meets on 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 10/30)

What's Included

• 2 hours of instruction for 4 weeks
  
• 12 lbs of clay
• Bisque firing, glaze, and glaze firing for 2 pieces, each piece not to exceed 6 lbs.
• Shared shelf storage for the duration of the class
• Unlimited access to Open Studio to practice skills between classes

What Students Should Bring

• A toolkit including a sponge, wood rib, wood knife, metal rib, needle tool, big loop tool, small loop tool, and wire tool (or the equivalent advanced tools for any category). The studio sells beginner kits and also has a selection of more advanced tools available for purchase. We recommend labeling your tools with a permanent marker prior to class.
• 1 x gallon sized zip lock bag 
• 4 x plastic grocery bags to store your pots in (more as desired)
• Newspaper (if you have it) 
  
• Optional (only if you plan on doing pottery for more than 1 month): a bat system with inserts. More information will be provided prior to the class start date. 

Make Up Policy

Students must notify the studio in advance via email if they are unable to attend a class. If space allows in another class time slot, a make-up class will be offered. If no space is available in another class, the student can make up studio time during Open Studio, with limited to no instruction. Credits and refunds are not provided for missed classes.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made 8 days or more in advance will be fully refunded. Cancellations made 7 days or less prior to the class start date are non-refundable.
