Pet Portrait Mug | 10-12 oz | Made to Order

A perfect gift for an animal lover or a special way to remember a friend you lost.

These 10-12 oz mugs are thrown on the potters wheel with a speckled brown stoneware. The bottoms are trimmed with a raised foot and handles are pulled and attached. Once nearly dry, they are painted with underglaze and hand-carved in the likeness of your pet (you will need to provide a clear photograph). Once fully dry they are then fired to 1,915 degrees, spending little more than 24 hours in the kiln. After being washed they are glazed with a food-safe glaze and fired once more to 2,160 degrees. The bottoms are then sanded to a smooth finish.
