Kids Beginner Pottery Wheel

Class Description

This weekly class is designed to give students aged 8-12 comprehensive instruction to learn how to use the pottery wheel. This class is designed to be repeated, allowing students to grow their throwing, trimming, and glazing skills at their own pace. 

Students will be able to choose from a menu of projects each month to create customized heirloom ceramic pieces that can last a lifetime! Some of our beginner projects include: 

• Small bowls
• Mini bud vases
• Mugs 
• Dessert plates 
• Ring holders

No prior experience is needed for this weekly class. We introduce each step slowly to optimize learning and retention of skills week over week.

What's Included

• 2-hours of instruction weekly
• Small class size of up to 8 people
• 12 lbs of white clay
• Bisque firing, glaze firing and glaze for 2 pieces
• Shared shelf storage for the duration of the class
• Unlimited access to Open Studio to practice skills between classes (must be accompanied by an adult)
  
• 10% discount on pottery purchased from the studio gallery

Make Up Policy

Students must notify the studio in advance via email if they are unable to attend a class. If space allows in another class time slot, a make-up class will be offered. If no space is available in another class, the student can make up studio time during Open Studio, with limited to no instruction. Credits and refunds are not provided for missed classes.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made 8 days or more in advance will be fully refunded. Cancellations made 7 days or less prior to the class start date are non-refundable. 

Discounts

Studio members receive 20% off classes with code MEMBER-CL

$10 discount on each registration if paying with cash or zelle.

Cash payment must be received within 7 days of registration or enrollment will be cancelled and spot(s) opened up to someone else. Cash can be dropped off at the studio during any Open Studio time. Zelle payment can be sent to jacqueline@gratefulclay.com.
