Chai Matte Shino is a matte, 100% mixable mid-fire glaze that yields wonderfully varied shades of cream, orange, and brown depending on the thickness of application.

Influenced by the humble earthiness of tea ceremony bowls, Shino glazes give a traditional high-iron look to any high fire clay body. Beautiful on textured or smooth clay bodies, blendable to get the right degree of matte or glossy surface. 

Shino glazes can also be layered with our PC line of glazes for different effects.

Studio Notes
For 2 oz and 4 oz portions, glazes are poured from bulk into portion cups with lids. For long-term storage, we recommend placing your portion cups into a zip lock bag.

For 16 oz portions, glazes are poured from bulk into cleaned recycled glaze bottles.
