Is the bottom signed?

Pots are required to be signed either with your branded stamp/signature or your first and last name. Unsigned pots or those with initials only will not be fired.

Is it bone dry?

Only bone dry pots should be placed on the shelf if you want to avoid a steam related explosion. All pots on the shelf will be loaded into the firing wet or dry. The studio is not liable if you place a pot on the shelf that is not ready.

Stack eligible pots

Stacking pots can help us save space in the kiln and save you money in firing fees.

Tips:

  • Stacked pots must be easy to pick up and move around
  • Avoid stacking multiple heavy pots together as the bottom pot may crack during the firing
  • Place smaller, light-weight items inside larger items
  • Appropriately stacked items count as one piece for billing

To place your order

  1. Weigh your first piece and round up to the nearest pound
  2. Select the weight of your first piece
  3. Add to cart
  4. Repeat for additional pots for this bisque firing

Put on Shelf

  1. Measure your piece against the kiln posts. Your piece should fit under the shortest possible post by at least 1/4 inch.
  2. Place your pot in the next available spot, making rows from back to front, starting from the right side of the shelf to the left

Pots will be loaded into the kiln based on their placement on the shelf. First come first served. Pots that need to be fired to keep on pace for weekly classes will be prioritized. If your pot doesn't make it into this firing due to space constraints it will be prioritized for the next firing.

We fire our bisque kiln to cone 08.
